Pastor: Denton H. “Denny” Lewis
Bro. Denny is pastor-teacher at New Life Baptist Church in Hoisington Kansas. Being bi-vocational, he is a
public school teacher at Great Bend High School.
The love of his life is Cathy and they
have three children, An adult child Tony, and twin teens Caty, and Eli. Tony and his wife, Amanda, have blessed them with two grandchildren, Feb and Alice.
Denny grew
up mostly in Arkansas, and loves to play guitar and sing, and enjoys spending time
traveling to National and
State parks.
Although the call to ministry had been evident years ago, Denny did not surrender to
preach until 2010. He achieved a teaching degree from the University of
Central Arkansas in 2003. Later, he attended Midwestern Baptist Theological
Seminary and earned his Master’s in Theology in 2017.
The family came to New Life as missionaries of First Southern Baptist Church in Great
Bend in 2015. The church had been searching for a pastor for 5 years, and it seems
God had been preparing Bro. Denny for this work, specifically. After helping guide the
church to independence in 2018, the congregation has grown in numbers and spiritual
maturity.
